Alpine Helen’s 100th Birthday Celebration

When – Tuesday, August 13, 2013 – 5:30pm – 7:30pm
The month kicks off with a birthday celebration at the Helendorf River Inn. This will be a fun night that the entire family can enjoy. Come hungry and ready to try various foods from the local restaurants and coffee shops. There will also be great music, local art on display and a silent auction. Plus, be sure to participate in the Basket Raffles where you can win a basket full of products from local merchants.

Destination Helen Motorcycle Rally

When – Thursday, August 15, 2013 – Sunday, August 18, 2013 
For less than $20 you can head over to the Bavarian style valley of Helen GA and join bikers from all over, at the annual Destination Helen Motorcycle Rally. There will be bike shows, silent auctions, music, games and contests all weekend long. You can camp out for the weekend or drop in periodically to see what’s going on. Due to the adult nature of this event you may want to leave the kids with a sitter.

Helen Centennial Music Fest

When – Saturday, August 24, 2013 – 5:00pm – 11:00pm
As part of this year’s Centennial Celebration, Helen will be hosting it’s very first Music Fest at the Festhalle. Join in on this groundbreaking tradition. You will get to hear live music from local Georgia artists including Destitute Way, Clay Cooley and The Fiddle Hands.

Garlic Fest 2013

When – Saturday, August 24, 2013 – 10:00am – 4:00pm
Bring your mints and get ready for Garlic Fest 2013! Logan Berry Heritage Farm grows 14 varieties of garlic and wants to share these tastes with you. Come join in this celebration filled with live music, animals, and artisans. There will also be plenty of garlic tasting opportunities with delicious dishes prepared by visiting chefs.

Labor Day Weekend Kick-Off Music Pickin’ on the Porch

When: Friday, August 30, 2013 – 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Sautee Village will be kicking off the Labor Day weekend with live music by local musicians. You can even join in on the fun by bringing your own instrument with you. There will also be great food at no charge and lots of fun.Allure cabin living

Annual Crush Fest

When: Saturday, August 31, 2013 – 11:00am – 7:00pm
Bring the whole family to Yonah Mountain Vineyards to stomp grapes at the 4th annual Crust Fest. In the meantime, you can enjoy hourly performances by the Atlanta Falcon’s drum line and the Atlanta Pipe Band. While there be sure to enjoy the food, wine and a wide assortment of products from over 35 vendors. Also, before you leave take your family on board the horse drawn wagon for picturesque views of the 197 acre vineyard.

Floating River Parade

When: Saturday, August 31, 2013 – 1:00pm – 2:00pm
What better way to celebrate a 100 year anniversary than with an old fashioned parade? At the Floating River Parade, local residents decorate and showcase their own handmade floats and tubes. So, make your way to the Riverbend Motel where you can join the locals and see creativity at it’s best.

Fireworks in Helen – 100th Year Celebration

When: Saturday, August 31, 2013 – 9:15pm – 10:00pm
End August with a bang at the largest ever fireworks display in Helen GA. This brilliant fireworks show will go off behind the Alpine Village Shoppes. You won’t want to miss it, so be sure to stop by and see the show before heading out of town.
