Renting one of the Georgia Cabin rentals for your next family getaway is a great idea. Not only do you get the leisure and convenience of plenty of space for your family with excellent amenities, but Georgia Cabin Rentals also puts you in the middle of things to see and places to go. Gainesville, Georgia is home to some excellent museums, all with a unique spin on a true Georgia Museum experience.
- INK (Interactive Neighborhood for Kids) is a hands-on, interactive museum for children that promotes practical experiences through role-playing. Children can role-play experiences such as a grocery clerk, dentist, banker, or doctor. This exploration is not only fun but actively engages young children in what the world around them is like. Highlights include but certainly aren’t limited to, a 1927 American LaFrance Fire Truck that children can “drive” like the Gainesville Fire Department once did, a replica 1950s diner where children can serve up pretend burgers and shakes, and a 20’x20‘ family playhouse sure to entertain children, and children at heart.
- Northeast Georgia History Center is conveniently located near many of the Georgia cabin rentals and works to share and preserve the history of northeast Georgia. The exhibits are carefully maintained to share the lives, both present and past, of the citizens of the Gainesville area. There is a focus on the real-life stories of heroes and everyday citizens who have called this area home and who have made this area great. Among many other exhibits, Cherokee Chief White Path’s Cabin gives visitors a glimpse of what life was like for both white settlers and Cherokee Indians in the 1700’s, the Northeast Georgia Sports Hall of Fame highlights famous athletes of the area such as Ty Cobb and Bill Elliott, and The Land of Promise tells the story of Northeast Georgia through thousands of artifacts. Don’t miss the outdoor garden, An American Freedom Garden, dedicated to preserving the memory and mission of American Veterans.
- The Elachee Nature Science Center is committed to “educating for today…preserving for tomorrow” by promoting environmental understanding through education and conservation. Depending on what time of year you plan to visit there is a wide range of events planned at the center, accessing the Elachee events calendar before your trip is a great way to plan for your experience.
