Here comes Peter Cottontail! For the 2nd year in a row, Friends of Unicoi are making Easter “eggstra” special by organizing an Easter egg hunt and day of fun for kids of all ages. The event will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, April 19th at scenic Unicoi State Park (a Helen attraction of its own). Children will be divided by age group before they embark on a search for eggs and fun surprises. Parents will have a blast watching the little ones scurry about looking for treats while being able to take in the spectacular sites of the gorgeous park on a Spring morning. When the hunt has come to an end, the fun will continue. You may choose to go on a charming hayride with your family and friends or assist your children as they get creative with organized arts and crafts.
Eggstravaganza & Rabbit Palooza l North Georgia Zoo
Have you ever found yourself wondering where the Easter Bunny lives? The answer is right here in the North Georgia Zoo and Petting Farm. Located just a short jaunt from downtown Helen, the zoo is putting on an “eggstrodinary” springtime event on both Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th. Expect the unexpected from this festive, seasonal Helen attraction. You and your little ones will have the opportunity to follow the bunny trail as you visit the rabbit pen. You’ll be able to touch and pet these fluffy critters as you learn all about the different types of bunny rabbits. See if you can figure out which one is responsible for delivering Easter treats! When you’re finished, you’ll want to be sure to purchase an Easter basket and set off on a hunt for as many eggs as your basket can hold! As you search, you’ll come upon a wide variety of animals including newborn baby chicks! You might decide to take a break to ride on the back of a donkey. When your basket is full, redeem it for a goody bag. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for an animal-shaped egg to win an “egg-stra” special prize!
