Brasstown Bald

One hotspot for visitors to our luxurious cabins is known as Brasstown Bald. Located at the end of the Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway, Brasstown Bald is the highest point in all of Georgia. As you ascend the highway, you will be delighted by the rich shades of green emitting from the seemingly endless timberland forests surrounding you. As the road continues to wind upward, you will be able to catch truly incredible views of the world below you. If you are really lucky, you may even spot some of the wildlife that is indigenous to the area.

Once you reach the highway’s end, you’ll be greeted by a member of the parks department and directed to park your vehicle. Picnic areas are available in this area should you decided to enjoy a meal in the fresh mountain air with your family or friends. As soon as you are ready, you will make the additional 500 foot ascent to the peak of the mountain and the visitor center. This involves a one mile hike to the summit on a paved path. Though the hike is challenging, there are numerous benches and stopping points along the way, making this do-able for most individuals. Shuttles are also available for those who do not feel they can make the hike, or who do not have the time.

The payoff for all that huffing and puffing as you hike up the trail is one of the most incredible and unique views you have ever experienced. The Brasstown Bald Visitor’s Center features an unencumbered, 360 degree birds-eye view. From this point at the top of Georgia, you will be able to see four different states. As you gaze down upon the beautiful world below, see if you can spot Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina!

Zip Line Tour

For a fun and adventurous way to get a birds-eye view of the gorgeous landscape near the Helen cabin rentals, you simply must experience a zip line tour! These exciting tours will provide you with an exclusive view of the world below you.

  • Sunburst Stables – Though Sunburst Stables is best known for (you guessed it) their stables and horseback riding, zip line tours are also available for those who are ready to get their feet off the ground! The experts at Sunburst Stables will get you used to the tips and tricks of riding on a zip line before you head out on the “Sawmill” zip line which will take you over lush trees, over a sawmill, and to the only cave zipline! You will also get to experience the 1000 foot “Moonshine” line and the “Foxline” which will take you 100 feet above the forest floor!
  • ZipNTime – ZipNTime is northern Georgia’s newest zip line tour and is located only minutes from the Georgia cabins. The unique aspect of these incredible zip line tours is that each experience incorporates the history of the Nacoochee-Sautee Valley. Whether you prefer strictly the views of a canopy tour, or would like to add a little adventure with a visit to a gold mine, there is something for you here! Feeling brave? ZipNTime is home to “The Intimidator”  – Georgia’s longest dual zip line. To add some even more “up high” views and fun, you will also have the option to rappel off of “Rebecca’s Tower” or even fall from the tower on an extreme “leap of faith” once your zip line tour has been completed.
Hot Air Balloon

A hot air balloon ride with “Balloons Over Georgia” will take you into the sky, far above the cabins! Based in Forsyth county, your balloon tour will begin just a short drive from your luxury cabin. As you drift along on top of the world, you will have the privilege of getting birds-eye views of places like Lake Lanier, the Alpine village of Helen, and the Atlanta Skyline. From way up high, you will have front row seats to spotting some of the airborne wildlife that is native to Georgia such as blue herons, red-tail hawks, and even large cranes.

What do you hope to see from the top of the world?
