Follow I-20 West towards Atlanta
At the Exit #172 (Thomson, GA), take U.S. 78/GA-17/GA-10 North towards Washington, GA (alternately you could take I-20 to Exit #114 and follow U.S. 441 North to Athens and then continue with the directions below)
As you approach Washington, turn left onto GA-47/U.S. 78 Business Rt./GA-10 Business Rt. (also known as Robert Toombs Ave.)
Follow GA-47/U.S. 78 Business Route through Washington, GA until it reconnects with U.S. 78
Turn left onto U.S. 78/GA-10 and follow towards Athens, GA
As you near Athens, get onto the Athens Perimiter Highway northbound (also known as U.S. 129 North/U.S. 29 North/U.S. 441 North/GA-10 Business Loop/GA-15)
Follow Athens Perimeter Highway/US-441, US-129 North to Exit #10B
Exit #10B will keep you on US-441, US-129 North/Athens Perimeter Highway
Exit the Athens Perimeter Highway at Exit #12
At the end of the off-ramp turn right onto US-441/GA-15 North
Follow US-441/GA-15 North towards Commerce, GA
To avoid going directly through Commerce stay on U.S. 441 North (Business 441-North will rejoin U.S. 441 North, but is a slower route)
Continue on U.S. 441/GA-15 North towards Baldwin, GA (this road will also become GA-198 when you reach the Chattahoochee National Forest)
Take U.S. 441 through Baldwin (U.S. 123 will briefly meet up with U.S. 441 and then split off again -- be sure to stay on U.S. 441)
Shortly past Baldwin, U.S. 441 will merge with U.S. 23 North
About 1 mile after the merge there will be an exit for Business Route (Bus.) U.S. 441/GA 105 Clarkesville/Demorest/Helen -- exit here
At the end of the exit ramp turn left
Follow Bus. U.S. 441/GA-105 for about 0.3 miles
Turn left at the light on to GA-105 (Cannon Bridge Rd.) -- you will no longer be on Bus. U.S. 441 at this point
Follow GA-105 (Cannon Bridge Rd.) for a little over 8 miles until the intersection with GA-17 (Unicoi Tpke.)
Turn left onto GA-17 (Unicoi Tpke.) and go about 5.8 miles and turn right onto GA-255
Take GA-255 for about 0.8 miles and turn left onto Bean Creek Rd.
After about 1.4 miles Bean Creek Rd. becomes unpaved -- continue on the unpaved portion for another 0.5 miles and turn left onto North Gold Valley Trail (DO NOT turn onto South Gold Valley Trail)
Follow North Gold Valley Trail for about 0.7 miles (be sure NOT to turn onto Buckhorn Trail)
Turn right onto Eagle Talon Trail (becomes paved) and follow for 0.2 miles
Turn left onto Grizzly Bear Trail and follow for about 0.1 miles to the end
The driveway for Summit is a sharp right at the end of Grizzly Bear Trail
