Directions to "Summit"


I-20 East Shield  Via I-20 East  I-20 East Shield
From Western Georgia, Alabama, and points west

Follow I-20 East towards Atlanta

At the Exit #51B (I-85/I-285 interchange) take I-285 North (towards Chattanooga)

Continue on I-285 for about 22 miles until the I-85 interchange (exit #33B)**

Take I-85 North (towards Greenville) to I-85/I-985 interchange at Exit 113 (I-985 is a left-side exit)

Follow I-985/U.S. 23 (Sidney Lanier Parkway) North

After Exit 24 I-985/U.S. 23 becomes U.S. 23/GA-365

Continue on U.S. 23/GA-365; after about 22-23 miles, near Cornelia, GA, U.S. 441 merges with U.S. 23/GA-365

About 1 mile after the merge there will be an exit for Business Route (Bus.) U.S. 441/GA 105 Clarkesville/Demorest/Helen -- exit here

At the end of the exit ramp turn left

Follow Bus. U.S. 441/GA-105 for about 0.3 miles

Turn left at the light on to GA-105 (Cannon Bridge Rd.) -- you will no longer be on Bus. U.S. 441 at this point

Follow GA-105 (Cannon Bridge Rd.) for a little over 8 miles until the intersection with GA-17 (Unicoi Tpke.)

Turn left onto GA-17 (Unicoi Tpke.) and go about 5.8 miles and turn right onto GA-255

Take GA-255 for about 0.8 miles and turn left onto Bean Creek Rd.

After about 1.4 miles Bean Creek Rd. becomes unpaved -- continue on the unpaved portion for another 0.5 miles and turn left onto North Gold Valley Trail (DO NOT turn onto South Gold Valley Trail)

Follow North Gold Valley Trail for about 0.7 miles (be sure NOT to turn onto Buckhorn Trail)

Turn right onto Eagle Talon Trail (becomes paved) and follow for 0.2 miles

Turn left onto Grizzly Bear Trail and follow for about 0.1 miles to the end

The driveway for Summit is a sharp right at the end of Grizzly Bear Trail


** when nearing Atlanta it is advisable to monitor traffic and consider taking alternate routes such as GA-400.
